we unlocked parts of ourselves, found spaces we didn’t know we needed
mutuals became synonymous with friends
we talked into the night or into the morning
time zones didn’t matter
but now —
                      a press for in-person partnerships
for passively passing time together
for clarity a screen can’t capture
for long awaited embraces, refamiliarizing the feel of skin against your own
we miss it, need it even, but
